What Happens When You Call
We start with what prompted the call: a ceiling stain, shingles in the yard, a gutter overflowing at one corner, or a roof that is simply getting old. From that, we can usually tell whether you need roof repair, a roof inspection or a talk about roof replacement, and we set a time to see the roof in person.
If the job points toward a reroof, we explain on the call that a replacement usually requires a city permit and an inspection, and that we pull the permit ourselves. We also cover what the inspector looks at, including underlayment, drip edge, step flashing at walls and attic ventilation, so the process holds no surprises.
A Few Details That Make the Call Quicker
- Where the house is and a phone number that reaches you during the day, so we can line up a visit.
- What you've noticed and where, for example a water spot below a valley or a gutter pulling away from the fascia.
- Roughly how old the roof is and what repairs it has had, because the number of existing shingle layers changes what code permits on the next roof.
